Windsor’s 250th Anniversary Historic Homes Tour

The Historic Home Tour is part of The Town of Windsor’s 250th Anniversary celebration. Windsor is offering an Historic Homes Tour from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, November 10th. The tour will begin at Historic Hope Plantation with a tour of the Hope Mansion and King-Bazemore House followed by a Buffet Lunch. The Buffet Lunch will be available from 11 am until 1 pm. After lunch you will visit ten more homes and other sites including Churches and Museums in Windsor which will be open for a Self-Guided Tour.
Owners of each private home will welcome you to the home and point out the home’s architectural details, historic data, information on the original and early owners of the property, as well as how the home has been updated to meet the demands of modern living. Be sure to take time to visit the 3 museums and stroll through the Liverman mini-zoo. Also nearby is the Roanoke-Cashie River Center where you will find wildlife displays on the history of the region, including the Civil War batter of Windsor, information on the nearby dig for the Lost Colonists, and displays depicting life of the Native Americans that lived in the region.
Tickets are $30 plus tax in advance which includes the Buffet Lunch and will be available to purchase online until Wednesday, November 7th. Ticket sales will continue up until the day of the event for $35 plus tax at the Heritage Center. For more information you can call 252-794-3140 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Your Eventbrite ticket is your Will Call ticket. You will need to go to the Heritage Center and present your receipt for your online ticket at the Heritage Center the day of the event and pick up your Map for the Historic Home Tours.
